DIY Cinnamon Orange Mouthwash

DIY Cinnamon Orange Mouthwash

I love having a healthy mouth, who doesn’t!! Making your own mouthwash is really simple and lovely to have handy after brushing teeth. I personally love cinnamon in everything. The taste and aromas are warm and uplifting. Cinnamon also has amazing anti-bacterial properties which make it great to help maintain that healthy mouth.

Any pint size regular mouth mason jar works well for this Do It Yourself tutorial however if you find a wide mouth pump feel free to use it on a suitable jar. I found a pump at our new local Target. Maui just opened a Target in March of 2015. They have great section for mason jar accessories. Another great place to shop is Amazon.

Distilled water is removing the minerals from water so you don’t get the mineral build up. There are many ways to do it. I use this simple way because I’m using it for mouthwash. Just boil water, take it off the burner and let it cool completely.

I use food grade essential oils since they’re going in my mouth. Please do your research and make sure you essential oils are food grade quality. Cinnamon is a very spicy, for this recipe you only need 10 drops of pure cinnamon oil however if you like the taste stronger feel free to add more drops. Avoid contact of cinnamon oil on your skin.

I love my blue vintage regular mouth mason jars so I used it for this recipe. I crocheted a simple cotton cozy to go on the bottom to keep moisture from collecting. Pattern for Mini Mason Jar Cozy is here.
