About Me

Aloha and welcome to Pink Plumeria Maui! I’m so excited to share with you crochet projects, sewing projects, recipes, do it yourself ideas and more!

A little about me:

I was born and raised submersed in crafts. My childhood was filled with fabric stores, quilt stores, gem shows, pow wows, art shows, flea markets, antique stores, and so much more. My parents are great crafters and all my young memories are of creating.

As a young child we moved to Southern California and each weekend my parent’s continued to find stores, shows, people to take me to. My mother taught me to sew at the age of 5, which feels like yesterday. My father took me to all his weekend carpentry jobs. My father was an avid hiker and seeker of artifacts so we would pull over on the side of the rode and just go exploring and seeing what we could find. I started quilting as a teenager. Textiles and nature were a blueprint of my childhood.

In my mid 20’s I moved to Maui. I sold everything and made the journey across the pacific. I’m glad I did it while I was young and single. Living by the ocean igniting a creative passion in me. When I started having children I found myself creating again. From cooking, sewing to do it yourself projects. For many years friends and family encouraged me to write a blog.

In April of 2014 my mother was visiting shortly after the birth of my third son. I begged for her to teach me to crochet. She did and fireworks exploded in my brain! I started posting my creations on social media and the feedback was fantastic so I made it a goal to create a blog and online shop.

I’m so excited to share with you my creations, ideas, recipes and more. Follow me on Instagram @pinkplumeriamaui or email me tonjapebenito@gmail.com to stay in touch.
