Have you ever had a project that you always wanted to make? When I started crocheting one of the first projects I wanted to make was a basket. The problem was finding yarn that was sturdy enough and didn’t make a floppy basket. I researched T-Shirt yarn and was going to make my own. Fast forward five years and I never made that T-Shirt yarn. I recently received a message from Fox Yarn Company and they wanted me to try their T-Shirt yarn. I was very excited to try their yarn and I chose Squidward Green as it looked like a beautiful beach inspired color. When I received the yarn I did two thing; first I carved a P/12.0 mm Hook and second I sat on a few ideas of what I wanted to make. After a few weeks I decided to make the project I always wanted to make, a basket.
I created the Makena Basket Pattern with T-Shirt yarn and it came out sturdy. It’s functional and super cute in my house. I can fit 4 bulky skeins of yarn in it or a bunch of kids toys. Below is the free pattern however if you would like a low cost PDF, ad free version you can get that on my Etsy or Ravelry.
