Crocheted Hanging Pot Holder in car with succulents.

I created a Mini Crocheted Hanging Pot Holder to combine my love of crochet and love of succulents. April is National Stress Awareness Month and my favorite things to do for relaxation is crochet and maintain my succulent garden. I recently listened to a pod cast by Brittany at www.bhookedcrochet.com with Sarah from www.craftyarncouncil.com about Craft Yarn Council’s campaign Stitch Away Stress. It was a very informative and reassuring pod cast that confirms many benefit from stress relief by crocheting. As a wife and mother of 4 boys my stress level can reach some very high moments. I personally use it to calm my mind and relax my body, it is my form of mediation after a long day.

The pattern is for a 2 inch clay pot, I pick one up at my local Walmart for $0.30. I also put half dirt and moss on top to secure the dirt while driving. The pattern is simple and made up of mainly chaining and single crochet using the trellis crochet stitch. You can make it in under 30 minutes.  A Mini Crocheted Hanging Pot Holder can be used for home or office as well. It would make a great gift for a friend or family member.

Materials Needed:

Worsted Weight Yarn. I used Lily Sugar n’ Cream White
