Welcome to the Kai Beanie Pattern, this is a crochet pattern that was published in Fall 2018 with its sister pattern, the Wai Beanie Pattern. This pattern was designed with a unique way to get a raised texture and have the texture lay flat. The Kai Beanie Pattern is also a gender-neutral pattern so you can make one for the whole family. As a mom of boys, I find it so hard to find beanie patterns so this one is dedicated to them. To make the adult size a bigger you can go up a hook size and I find that works quite well.

The yarn I used in this pattern is Whims Merino from Furls Fiberarts in Charcoal. Whim Merino is a mixture of 50% fine superwash merino wool and 50% nylon of their unique Z Twist Crocheters Yarn. I loved working with this yarn and look forward to working with it again.

The special stitch in this pattern is a BPsc under V and I’ve included a picture to help out visually. I hope to have a video tutorial very soon.

I hope you love this fun pattern! Please share with me on social media. You can follow me on Instagram HERE and on Facebook HERE! Tag me @pinkplumeriamaui and use #pinkplumeriamaui.
